What we do

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Fe/Del Norte currently has 7 Clubs in Santa Fe and Rio Arriba Counties, and offers children ages 5 to 18 a safe, fun and educational place to spend their time out-of-school time. Clubs are open Monday through Friday from 3:30-6:00 after school, and all day during the summer. Our programming focuses on 3 core areas: Education, Character Development and Healthy Lifestyles.

Here are some of the programs we offer:

Education & Career ProgramsThese programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement.
   - Project Learn (high yield learning activities)
   - Power Hour (homework help & tutoring)

Character & Leadership Development - Helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community and celebrating our national heritage.

     - Youth of the Year
     - Junior Staff
     - Club Member of the Month
     - Torch Club

Health & Life Skills - These initiatives develop young people's capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
     - Healthy Habits (life long health & wellness)
     - S.M.A.R.T. Moves (drug resistance)
     - Triple Play (life long physical fitness)
     - Project AIM/T.O.P.
     - Youth Development Basketball Program (skills development)
     - Social recreation game room (socialization activities)

The Arts - Programs in this core area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.

Sports, Fitness and Recreation - These Club programs help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the environment and social and interpersonal skills.

Specialized Programs - These initiatives focus on meeting the significant and specific needs identified within Boys & Girls Clubs. Their broad scope complements several or all of our core programs areas.
